SEED OF MEMORY, ( N.S.L.O.) Trabalho com Mosquiteiros para lembrar a Proteção dos seres humanos nos 4 polos do mundo

Para as minhas figuras parti da semente, que cria novas vidas, no sentido em que primeiro se tem o grão, que é preciso fermentar, depois torna-se semente, e depois árvore, na qual crescem frutas, que por sua vez têm sementes. Com a vida humana é similar, também começa com uma semente, que depois se torna bébé, depois criança, depois adulto, e depois pai ou mãe. Com as minhas figuras dei uma vida nova a coisas já mortas, que tirei do lixo em Luanda. Ainda se nota a presença daquilo que eram antes, por exemplo nas tampas. Dei-lhes um valor. Questiono com isto também a polução ambiental e ecológica. Com os faróis mostro que do lixo pode vir luz – uma luz que dirige as pessoas na escuridão para se andar bem. Precisamos de ver o caminho que queremos tomar. A luz do farol também é direcionada. Ninguém aceita recuar e voltar trás. Todos os dias as pessoas fazem esforços, estes são para ir em frente.

As tuas esculturas têm uma tensão entre os materiais fortes, o ferro e o plástico mais moldável. Porquê?

É para mostrar que na nossa sociedade temos pessoas fortes e fracas, mas todos temos de conviver e andar em equilíbrio, não pode haver discriminação. Ninguém pode fazer um trabalho sózinho. Até uma empregada faz a sua parte, ajudando o senhorio diáriamente. Não podemos esquecer-nos das classes mais baixas.

Para fazer as esculturas tirei a medida do meu próprio corpo. Todas as esculturas têm as minhas e mesmas proporções. Quem me conhece, reconhece as semelhanças, também por causa das poses. Os meus amigos quando viam as figuras diziam logo “isto, mesmo, é o Mangovo!”. Para mim são os meus filhos.

For my figures I started from the seed, which creates new lives, in the sense that the grain first has to be fermented, then it becomes a seed, and then a tree, in which fruits grow, which in turn have seeds. With human life is similar, it also begins with a seed, which then becomes a baby, then a child, then an adult, and then a parent. With my figures I gave a new life to things already dead, which I took out of garbage in Luanda. You can still see the presence of what they were before, for example in the covers. I gave them a value. I question with this also the environmental and ecological pollution. With the headlights I show that light can come from the garbage - a light that directs people in the dark to get along. We need to see the path we want to take. The headlamp light is also directed. Nobody will step back and back. Every day people make efforts, these are to go forward.

Your sculptures have a tension between the strong materials, the iron and the more moldable plastic. Because?

It is to show that in our society we have strong and weak people, but we all have to live and walk in balance, there can be no discrimination. No one can do a job alone. Even a maid does her part, helping the landlord every day. We can not forget the lower classes.

To make the sculptures I took the measure of my own body. All the sculptures have my own proportions. Those who know me recognize the similarities, also because of poses. My friends when they saw the figures said "this is Mangovo!" For me they are my children.
